Stories of Change: Helping You Navigate What's Next
Life doesn’t come with a roadmap. We’re all figuring it out as we go.

I’m Judy Oskam, creator and host of Stories of Change: Helping You Navigate What’s Next, a podcast about life transitions, career change and starting over.

In each episode, I explore career changes, personal growth, new beginnings and the moments that change our direction.

Maybe you’re facing a change, starting a new chapter or simply wondering what comes next. Either way, I hope you’ll hear a real story and take away a little wisdom that helps you find your own way forward.

Because every story has something to teach us.

30 Days of What's Next: An Experiment in Trying Something New

Have you ever thought about trying something new, but kept putting it off?

Well, I'm trying something different this November.

I'm releasing 30 podcast episodes in 30 days as part of National Podcast Post Month, or NaPodPoMo. I've been podcasting for years, but I've never attempted anything quite like this.

And I'm treating it as an experiment.

For the next 30 days, I'll be sharing conversations with people who've made changes, followed their curiosity and figured things out along the way.

We'll explore what it takes to begin, the courage to change direction, discovering new possibilities, and finding your way forward when life doesn't go as planned.

I'll also share a few solo episodes, weekly reflections, and One Idea Worth Sharing—books and insights that have made me think about change a little differently.

I don't know exactly how this experiment will turn out. But that's part of the point.

Questions We'll Explore

Do you have to know how something will turn out before you begin?

I'm testing that question myself this month. Sometimes the best way to learn is to try something and see what happens.

What can we learn from people who've made meaningful changes?

Throughout November, I'll be talking with people about the decisions they've made, the challenges they've faced, and what they've learned along the way. I'll be sharing some awesome interviews with artists, creatives and experts.

What happens when you give yourself permission to experiment?

That's what I hope to discover over these 30 days. I'll share what works, what doesn't, and what I learn about podcasting and change.

out. I'm Judy Oskam, and welcome to Stories of Change, Helping You Navigate What's Next. During November, I'm going to post 30 podcast episodes. Now, that might not mean an episode every day. Some days I may post more than one. I'll figure out the pace as I go. It's all part of Na Pod Pomo that stands for National Podcast Post Month. The challenge is 30 episodes in 30 days. Well, if you've been following along, you know I've been podcasting for a few years now, but I've never done this. And saying it out loud makes it a commitment. 30 days sounds like a lot, and it is a lot. I don't even know how it will all come together. Some episodes may take more time than I expect, but this is a good time for me to do this. The time is right for

Grief, Caregiving, And A New Season

me. My mom passed away in September. She was 95, and after years of caregiving, my days look different now. Mom was my biggest fan. You can even hear her on an earlier episode. We celebrated a milestone birthday. I missed the hell out of her, and I'm still figuring out a way to find my way through the grief. Sharing stories feels like one place to begin, and maybe these conversations will help me too. And maybe you'll hear something that'll make a difference in your own life. So this experiment is personal. I'm figuring out my own what's next right along with

Showing Up As An Experiment

you. So I'm treating November as an experiment. I want to find out what happens when I keep showing up, even while I'm still figuring it out. I've always believed that sometimes you have to take action and figure things out along the way. So this month I'm going to put it to practice. And I'm calling it 30 Days of What's Next. Each week has a theme. Week one is permission to begin. That seems like a good place to start. So I'm giving myself permission to try this without knowing whether I can do it the way I'm thinking I can now. Week two is the courage

to change. You'll hear about deciding to go in a different direction and what it takes to follow through. Week three is discovering new possibilities and what might you see differently when you give something unfamiliar a chance. Week four is finding your way forward. And how do you take what you've learned or experienced and then decide what comes next and move forward? And trying this new pace doesn't mean rushing the episodes. The stories come first. The guests you'll hear this month are amazing. They've entrusted me with their stories, and I want to give those conversations the care they deserve. Each week you'll hear real stories about change, what people faced and what they're still figuring out, and what they've learned along the way. My hope is that hearing how someone else found a way through will help you think about your own next step. That's what Stories of Change is all about, helping us navigate what's next.

What You’ll Hear This Month

Judy Oskam

You'll hear interviews and shorter conversations with me. I'll also share a weekly book reflection called One Idea Worth Sharing. Just one idea we can spend a little time with and consider in our own lives. And I might play a little guitar along the way. You might hear that. Well, I'm aiming for 30 episodes. I'm not totally finished yet, but I'll get there. And I don't want to skip over that part. The part where you've said you'll try something

and now you have to begin. Well, that's where I am today, and I'm telling you all that right now. I'm curious about what I'll learn, and I'm willing to let you hear me learning. Maybe there's something you've been wanting to try too. Would you like to look at that as an experiment? You don't have to commit to 30 days. Just give yourself a place to begin, see what happens, and then decide what to do next. You can follow Stories of Change wherever you listen and join me throughout November. 30 days, 30 episodes. Let's see what we learn. I'm Judy Oskam Thanks for listening.
